Carex vulpinoidea - Fox sedge
This perennial sedge is adaptable to many sun and soil conditions, but typically grows in areas with more moisture present. It is a clump forming, and adds a great texture to the garden with its bright green leaves and interesting seed heads. The name Fox Sedge is derived from the seed head which resembles a fox's tail. Like most sedges, it actively grows during the spring and fall when soil temperatures are cool.
